Featured Therapy Equipment

Zero-Weight Bearing Therapy

One-on-one training for guests with weight-bearing restrictions to learn to safely walk and ambulate with an assistive device such as a walker or crutches. As rehabilitation progresses, guests evolve to the safe use of partial-weight bearing assistive devices such as a canes or walkers before transitioning to full weight-bearing therapy, often without assistive devices.

One-on-one exercises that are non-weight-bearing may include cross trainers,  and resistance-band training.

Balance Therapy

BioDex® is used in therapy to promote balance and coordination, as well as strengthening, stretching, weight bearing, postural control and stability, endurance and overall aerobic conditioning.

Gait Training

Each gym is equipped with a variety of gait trainers.

Adjustable parallel bars are often used for supported standing practice and gait training.

One-on-one practice in gait training often occurs as natural part of a guest’s daily regimen.

Strengthening, Endurance & Stamina Rehabilitation

Treadmills and adaptive therapy cross trainers, such as NuStep, allow opportunities for upper and lower mobility, flexibility, and strengthening.

BioDex® may be used in therapy for strengthening, stretching, weight bearing, postural control and stability, endurance and overall aerobic conditioning as well as balance and coordination.

Daily Living Practice

Occupational therapy exercises support fine motor skills and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), a term used to describe techniques or the use of adaptive equipment to improve the ability to perform ADLs.

ADLs are practiced in each guest’s room as guests learn how to safely transfer from one place to another (such as getting in and out of bed), improve ambulation (either walking with or without assistive devices such as a cane; or using a wheelchair) and to safely accomplish daily self-care activities. Guests may also practice skills in our Daily Living Suite.

The VitalStim® Therapy System is a safe and effective, non-invasive treatment for patients suffering with difficulty swallowing or dysphagia. This therapy uses small electrical currents to stimulate the muscles responsible for swallowing to restore swallowing function and often accelerates recovery time from a restricted diet.

Short-Term Rehabilitation

We understand that we are your home away from home and your goal is to return to your active and independent lifestyle as soon as possible.
