Code of Ethics:
Mastery of our mission can only be achieved by our strong belief in, and continued conformity to, the established codes of behavior governing our facility based on doctrine encompassing equity, morality, integrity, devotion, and distinction in our service of care but are also universal in their application.
Residents, staff, volunteers, visitors, affiliates, vendors, representatives and all who come in contact with the facility, be it for social or business purposes, will be treated equally with respect and dignity.
We will seek to maintain up-to-date knowledge about and adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and rules, including protection of our residents'/employees' Personal Health Information (PHI).
We will educate our volunteers and avoid conflicts of interest, thievery or misuse of equipment, misuse of records or information, violations of PHI, theft of time, and personal gain at the expense of the facility.
We desire that all our Volunteers are particularly cognizant of the fact that Personal Health Information must be treated with utmost attention, accuracy, honesty, confidentiality and integrity.
Informing the Corporate Compliance Officer (Administrator) of any and all breaches of the Ethical Code as set forth is the duty and responsibility of all staff, administrators, business associates, etc.
Code of Conduct:
Complying with our values and ethics is the obligation of every volunteer, and a requirement for continued service in our facility. As a basis for maintaining these standards, we, as volunteers, are expected to:
- Treat all persons equally with respect, tolerance, dignity and understanding.
- Observe all rules, regulations, and laws of the Facility, Local, State, Federal, OSHA, HIPAA, etc.
- Be knowledgeable in the scope of our responsibilities and duties, both legally and morally, and attend all applicable in-service training seminars for continued update and education.
- Utilize integrity as the prime factor in all business, staff and resident dealing.
- Avoid any conflict of interest or the perception of questionable or offensive behavior.
- Uphold all residents' rights, including privacy, confidentiality, safety and security.
- Acknowledge the commitment to provide service to the facility and to the best of our ability, provide protection of the facility's property against abuse, misuse, or theft.
- Report any violation, or suspected violation, of legal or ethical standards to the Corporate Compliance Officer (Administrator).
- Ask questions, or get direction, if unsure of any action.
- Acknowledge my obligation to dutifully report any suspected or actual resident abuse, mistreatment, neglect, misappropriation of the facility's or resident's property, fraud, theft, unethical behavior, if there is reasonable cause to believe it occurred and agree to comply with all regulatory laws pertaining to Personal Health Information.
