Sarasota, FL:  Pines of Sarasota Corporate Board has two new directors and announces the Board officers. Pines of Sarasota Corporate Board is a volunteer board and responsible for general operating policies of Pines of Sarasota. “With so many opportunities and challenges ahead of Pines of Sarasota, I am very happy to welcome David Boyette and Jeffrey Schmidt as the newest members of our Pines of Sarasota Corporate Board,” states John Overton, President/CEO Pines of Sarasota.

David L. Boyette is an attorney with Adams and Reese since 2010, following the firm’s expansion into Sarasota. David has been practicing law since 1989 with experience in business litigation, real estate litigation, construction litigation, ad valorem tax litigation and trusts and estate litigation. His clients include contractors, real estate developers, realtors, financial institutions, homeowners associations, condominium associations, trustees and individuals and businesses. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Boyette has authored Title Insurance Liability Beyond the Policy, published in 69 Florida Bar Journal 24 (1995), WHOSE SHOES TO USE: Achieving a Subrogation Footing in the Wave of Foreclosures, published in Volume 87, No. 1, January 2013, The Florida Bar Journal and What Exactly Did I Sign Up For? Legal Duties Inherent in Serving on an Association Board, published in the September 2016 issue of Community, the official journal of Community Associations Institute (CAI), West Florida Chapter. He is a former member of The Florida Bar Grade Review Panel for 2003-2004 Business Litigation Board Certification Examination former pro bono attorney volunteer for the legal aid society and past chairman of multiple committees of the Sarasota County Bar Association.

In the community, he is an active member of the Sarasota County Bar Association, Florida Land Title Association, Community Associations Institute and the Incarnation Catholic Church.

Jeffrey Schmidt was born in Minneapolis, MN but grew up and worked in Northern Michigan for many years. He moved to Sarasota in 2001 to join the Business Banking team of a regional bank, transitioning several years later to their Private Bank. In 2008, Schmidt joined BMO Private Bank where as a Senior Private Banker he specializes in providing customized credit solutions for professionals and high wealth individuals, families, and trusts. Schmidt has been in the financial and banking industry since 1982.

When in Northern Michigan, Schmidt had a long history of volunteering for arts, community, charitable, and religious organizations. After moving to Sarasota, the volunteerism continued. Schmidt is a member and past President of the Sarasota Kiwanis Club, past President of the Sarasota Kiwanis Foundation, volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Treasurer for the Crystal Lakes HOA, and a past board member for the Players Theatre.
