PRESS RELEASE

SARASOTA, FL – Pines of Sarasota Foundation has received a generous grant of $150,000 from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation for the renovation of a 4,000 square foot building on the campus of the not-for-profit Pines of Sarasota Rehabilitation and Senior Care Community. The new space will be the Pines of Sarasota Entrepreneurial Center.

Formerly serving as the dining facility for Pines of Sarasota’s residents, the renovated building will provide expansion space for current and future entrepreneurial programs that are designed to serve the Sarasota community and help Pines meet our mission of providing ongoing care to our residents who have outlived their financial resources.

Current programs include Ready & Steady, A Plan for Better Balance, which offers free falls risk assessments, and the Pines of Sarasota Education & Training Institute, which creates and delivers training media to family and professional caregivers for individuals with dementia, locally and in 36 countries around the world.

The William G. and Marie Selby Foundation has been a generous Supporter of Pines of Sarasota for nearly 60 years.

Pines of Sarasota Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation generating funds for Pines of Sarasota, a not-for-profit community dedicated to providing excellent, compassionate healthcare, as well as support and educational services for seniors and their families in order to enhance the quality of life.

“As we embark on 2017, the exciting initiatives and growth Pines of Sarasota has planned is possible in large part due to the generous contributions and support from the Sarasota community. I urge everyone who has not been to our campus lately to come take a tour and see for yourself why we are leading the way to innovative and compassionate care for seniors,” states Estelle Crawford, President – Pines of Sarasota Foundation.
